Astrology Forecast for the Week of July 19, 2021- July 25, 2021

The astrology forecast for this week features four planetary aspects (Mercury sextile Uranus, Venus oppose Jupiter, Mercury trine Neptune, and Mercury oppose Pluto), two sign changes (Venus and the Sun), and a Full Moon in Aquarius.

It’s going to be a busy week, so let’s dive in…

Mercury

This week Mercury hogs the stage with aspects to all three outer planets – Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Mercury is currently moving through emotionally fluid Cancer, and feelings and emotional responses will be heightened. Sometimes, you may feel that you are sacrificing your own needs and pleasing others who may not appreciate your sacrifices. So, coming face to face with other people’s selfishness may be an issue. To combat these feelings, you may have to create boundaries to find a middle ground and avoid getting resentful. Make sure you honor yourself this week and practice self-care when needed.

Mercury sextile Uranus

Mercury’s first aspect this week occurs on Tuesday, and it’s an energetic sextile to Uranus in Taurus.

Mercury sextile Uranus kicks the mind into high gear. New thoughts, ideas, solutions to perplexing problems, and breakthroughs are all available with this aspect. Uranus is a forward-thinking planet that focuses on the big picture. Mercury sextile Uranus can help you plan and strategize all your possibilities, and ultimately put them in motion.

More practically, Mercury sextile Uranus means it is time to break from routines and do something new and exciting. You may want to plan a night out, socialize with friends and like-minded individuals, or take up a new hobby or interest. This aspect encourages you to get out of your usual patterns and leap into something new.

Mercury trine Neptune

Saturday is a break from reality day as Mercury trines Neptune. This is not a day to make significant decisions or focus on projects or tasks that require focus. Instead, spiritual concerns, meditation, music, and the arts are needed to feed your soul. You may need to plan nothing and spend the day relaxing and escaping the real world. One thing sure to happen is your intuition will be turned up to power ranger mode. Listen to your gut, but choose a more focused day before you commit to anything.

Mercury opposes Pluto

The last of the Mercury aspects occurs on Sunday, and it’s a doozy as Mercury opposes Pluto. I’m not going to sugarcoat it; this is a challenging aspect. Mercury oppose Pluto can be obsessive, compulsive, and even paranoid. Consequently, your interactions with others can become contentious, hostile, and argumentative. You may feel the need to prove something to others, which may provoke an equally forceful exchange. Also, you may need to practice the art of walking away if you fear you will cross the line – especially if you say or reveal something you will later regret.

On a more positive note, Mercury oppose Pluto gets you to think deep. You may discover something about yourself that you didn’t know, or get clarity on an issue troubling you. Self-insight is critical when working with this energy productively.

Venus in Virgo

The goddess of love doesn’t like Virgo much, and she is considered in her fall in the sign of the virgin. Hence, you can already see the problem, as romantic and erotic love are at odds with everything Virgo represents. So, as you can expect, Venus is at odds with herself and probably a little cranky while she moves through the sign.

Venus in Virgo tends to work best in the physical world and prefers to focus on schedules, activities, and rituals. However, you may also find a sudden interest in dieting, beautifying your space by pruning what is no longer of value and taking care of your health.

Upon entering Virgo, Venus applies to an opposition with Jupiter. Ordinarily, oppositions are challenging, but since Venus and Jupiter are both beneficial planets, the only thing you need to be concerned about is taking things to extremes and overspending. Otherwise, Venus opposes Jupiter is positive and enjoyable. So spend some time doing activities that you love.

Sun in Leo

This week, the Sun leaves the sign of Cancer and moves into Leo, the sign he rules. It’s a great time to focus on what brings you happiness and joy. While the Sun is in the sign of the roaring lion, you can expect a boost in self-confidence, and you will feel the need to express yourself, including your wants and needs. Since the Sun will be in a sign opposition to Saturn and a sign square to disruptive Uranus, you may feel pressured by outside influences. Stay true to yourself and your vision, and don’t capitulate because it’s convenient for others.

Full Moon in Aquarius

Finally, the last major event of the week is a full moon in mental Aquarius. Since this Full Moon conjoins Saturn, your duties and responsibilities may take center stage towards the end of the week. Since Aquarius is a fixed sign, this Full Moon cycle is about building solid foundations that are lasting and future-oriented. At its root, Aquarius is not concerned with the now, but with the ability to strategize a more sustainable future. Therefore, looking at the big picture of life is necessary during this Full Moon.

This week’s astrology forecast and horoscopes feature some lovely aspects at the beginning of the week (Mercury trine Jupiter, Venus conjunct Mars, and Sun trine Neptune), but this weekend, batten down the hatches because the Sun opposes Pluto.

Mercury trine Jupiter

On Monday, Mercury in Cancer forms a lovely trine to Jupiter. On the practical level, Mercury trine Jupiter is excellent for signing contracts, communication, and the ability to expand our minds by learning new subjects and exploring new opportunities. It’s an easy-going aspect that is light and usually agreeable.

But perhaps the most useful application of Mercury trine Jupiter is its ability to envision and plan the future. While Mercury trine Jupiter is active, it’s a great time to create plans, develop strategies, and use the power of positive thinking to create a better tomorrow.

Venus conjunct Mars

Love is in the air this week as Venus and Mars conjoin in passionate Leo on Tuesday. Venus and Mars increase sexual attraction, improve your self-esteem, and give a massive boost of confidence. Additionally, Venus and Mars in Leo are known to set off romantic fireworks! Venus conjunct Mars is excellent for working on relationships issues, understanding your partner’s needs, and expressing yourself in positive and individual ways. And, since Venus conjunct Mars happens while Mercury trine Jupiter is active, you can expect positive conversations about the future. For some of you, it may even be a perfect week to plan a wedding.

Sun trine Neptune

Towards the middle of the week, the Sun forms a lovely trine to Neptune in Pisces. Now, it’s not an auspicious time to perform activities that require discipline and mental focus, but Sun trine Neptune is an excellent time for creative projects and spiritual work. In addition, you may find that you are more sensitive to the emotional needs of others and are more willing to help those in need. Also, if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of daily living, Thursday is the day to do it.

Sun opposes Pluto

Finally, after a week of relatively light energy, the ‘nasties’ will be out in full force this weekend, as the Sun in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn. You may feel that people are trying to control you or limit your freedoms. Expect power plays, manipulative people to creep out of their layers, and potential conflicts with authority figures. Also, avoid being overly willful; you may attract unwanted attention.

This week’s astrology forecast and horoscopes feature a New Moon in Cancer, Mercury moving out of Gemini and into Cancer, and Venus getting cornered by Saturn and Uranus.

Sun Sextile Uranus

At the beginning of the week, we get a tiny (and by tiny, I mean tiny) break as the Sun in Cancer sextiles Uranus in Taurus. The Sun sextile Uranus tells us that we need to shake things up and break from our usual routines, and engage in different and exciting activities. Monday is also a great day to make changes to your life in areas (i.e., where you had difficulties) that may have become apparent last week when Mars opposed Saturn and squared Uranus.

Mercury square Neptune / Venus opposes Saturn square Uranus

On Tuesday, we are back in the saddle again, starting with Mercury square Neptune. The early part of the day will likely include brain fog and about enough motivation to pour a cup of coffee. Confusion and difficulties staying focused may dominate the day. Later, on Tuesday, Venus opposes Saturn, which along with Mercury square Neptune may leave you with feelings of self-doubt and other inner insecurities.

Venus oppose Saturn is a challenging aspect because it represents struggles in relationships, not the chocolate-covered strawberries and champaign type of business – the tough stuff. Venus oppose Saturn often reveals the areas of relationships that need work. Resolving relationship business will let you have fun again, so when the taskmaster calls, make sure you answer.

Venus oppose Saturn dovetails into Venus square Uranus on Thursday. As I mentioned earlier, with the Sun sextile Uranus, Uranus likes to shake things up and works no differently with Venus. On the positive side, Uranus often provides answers and strategies for relationship problems. On the negative side, Uranus likes freedom, and breakups can occur if relationships become too stifling or restrictive. The key is deciding whether a relationship is worth the effort, and practicing acceptance if it is not.

New Moon in Cancer

Look up in the sky on Friday because the New Moon is the sign of Cancer, and we reach the peak of Cancer Season. Now, unlike the last New Moon, a solar eclipse, you can do any intention or magical work you desire. So, get out your toolkit; it’s time to rock n’ roll. This New Moon is about new beginnings in Cancer’s domain – home, family, security, and fertility.

Mercury in Cancer

Finally, this busy cosmic week in astrology ends on Sunday when Mercury moves out of Gemini and into Cancer. Your intuition will be in overdrive, and you will understand things deeper than you normally would. Your sensitivity and compassion for others will be enhanced, and you may find it challenging to be around people who are angry, discordant, and cold.

Astrology Forecasts and Horoscopes for June 28, 2021 – July 4, 2021

This week’s astrology forecast and horoscopes include a dynamic aspect featuring the planet Mars and a cosmic phenomenon called ‘translation of light.’

And, no, this has nothing to do with special effects or Star Wars. It’s the process of connecting two planets that are not in aspect or are separating from an aspect.

Groovy Astro-speak, I know. But this week, it’s essential.

Mars opposes Saturn/Mars square Uranus:

Earlier this month, Saturn moving through Aquarius tangled with Uranus in Taurus. Since then, Saturn has separated from Uranus as he continues his retrograde motion in Aquarius that lasts until October.

Now, I went into Saturn square Uranus in-depth in a previous update, and if you want further details, you can read about it at your pleasure.

Back to the Present…

This week Mars continues his trip through Leo and opposes Saturn and then proceeds forward and squares Uranus. Essentially, he acts as an agent that brings the two planets together again, and this is called ‘translation of light.’

In astrology, Mars is an action planet. Mars likes to do things. He is impulsive, aggressive, and enjoys a good fight. Mars is currently in the sign of Leo, and in Leo, he likes to get what he wants, and his energies are diametrically (in Leo) opposed to Saturn. Saturn likes to slow things down, delay, and obstruct. So, you can see that Mars will build up steam, get angry, and be highly frustrated. Often, I refer to Mars-Saturn challenging aspects (conjunctions, squares, and oppositions) as driving with the breaks on. Mars hits the gas, but Saturn does not let the vehicle move forward, so Mars pushes on the gas harder. Eventually, this builds up steam and pressure.

After Mars moves past Saturn, he will then move forward and square Uranus. Mars square Uranus is a turbulent and often-explosive aspect. However, when you add the built-up frustration from his interaction with Saturn, he can be exceptionally volatile.

Mars opposes Saturn, and Mars square Uranus are challenging on their own. But what is rare in this week’s forecast is that Mars reactivates the Saturn square Uranus energies once again. Areas of our lives that need to change will resurface and become apparent.

The Moon on July 4 retriggers the entire configuration to complicate matters even further as she moves through Taurus.

Action Plan:

Now that you know what is going on, I am sure you are wondering, “what the heck do I do with this?”

Well, the first thing to recognize is that for many (especially the fixed signs of Taurus, Leo, Aquarius, and Scorpio), this will probably be a tough week. If you know it’s going to rain you bring an umbrella. In this case, you wear a hard hat. If you get through this week completely unscathed, great, but being prepared helps reduce the energies because it allows you to work with them more constructively. Secondly, it is good to remember that even if you are not a fixed sign, this configuration lands somewhere in your horoscope, and the areas represented by those parts of your horoscope will be affected. It would help if you remained on guard.

Tips and Tricks:

Here are some tips and tricks to help through the week.

Take note when you feel frustrated and note the area of your life where you feel frustrated.
When you feel frustrated, take time out and focus on other things for a bit. Distraction can be a powerful tool when dealing with frustrations and anxieties.
Once you figure out what is frustrating you, this can be a sign from the unconscious that you need to change this area of your life. Of course, none of us like change (well, maybe Geminis), but like I have said before, with Saturn-Uranus, you either change the areas of your life that Saturn-Uranus requires, or Saturn-Uranus will make the changes for you. There are no escape routes.
Once you have homed in on what you need to change, you can proactively begin to take the necessary steps to move forward progressively. And, no, you do not have to do this in one weekend; starting to make essential changes makes all the difference. Sometimes, we need to take baby steps.
If you feel an energy surge build-up or people in your life try to trigger you, avoid reacting. Instead, walk away from the situation and let things calm down before dealing with the issues. The more proactive you are, especially when your feelings are involved, the better the results. Also, an extra workout may relieve some of the martial tension.

Hopefully, these tips help you navigate your way through the week. Also, remember to always take care of yourself when energies are erupting out of the cosmos. Eat well. Sleep well. And most importantly, take care of your spirit.

The astrology and horoscope forecast for the week of June 21, 2021 – June 27, 2021, features one of the most positive aspects of the year, Venus moving into Leo and Mercury finally turning direct in Gemini.

Can I get an AMEN?

Let’s begin with the cosmic weather event that occurred late on Sunday (in North America): The Sun moved out of Gemini and into Cancer and marked the official beginning of summer in the North Hemisphere and winter in the Southern Hemisphere.

As we move through Cancer season, we leave the airy mental heights of Gemini and dive into the waters of the sign of the crab. In astrology, water signs are nurturing, compassionate, empathic, craves connections and emotional reliability. So, Cancer season is about finding the emotional sustenance that we need, connecting with those we care about and building emotional reliability through those connections. Also, in the mystical kabbalah, Cancer is the sign associated with healing and removing disease (dis-ease) by clearing negative behavior patterns that may be blocking us from living the life we want to live.

Now, there is good news this Cancer season. Jupiter will be in the sign of Pisces and forms a sign-based trine to the Sun. Last year, during Cancer season, there was an aura of uncertainty, confusion, isolation, and despair hovering over everything during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. This year this has changed (even though we are still in the pandemic), and we will go through Cancer season looking forward to all the potentials and possibilities we can create in the future.

Now, on with the forecast…

Mercury Turns Direct in Gemini

Although Mercury turning direct in Gemini is not the best news of the week, it is right up there with it as Mercury changes course on June 22^nd. During the first part of the week, expect another onslaught of communications problems, electronic devices acting up, and plans to go awry. However, as the week goes on, Mercury will slowly move forward. It’s a great time to clear up any communication problems, disagreements and attempt to repair any damage caused during the retrograde. You are also free to make plans and decisions once again.

Sun in Cancer trine Jupiter in Pisces

In astrology, the Sun trine Jupiter is one of the most favorable days of the year, so positive that it should provide somewhat of a protective shield from the worst of Venus oppose Pluto (although Aries, Cancer, Libra, and Capricorn may feel the effects of Venus square Pluto stronger).

The Sun and Jupiter are both fiery planets, and even though they are both in water signs, there is still a feeling of optimism, and our focus will be on future potentials and possibilities. Sun trine Jupiter is hopeful, which will be a pretty different attitude than the last couple of years when Saturn was in Capricorn and opposing the Sun, which can be a big downer. Also, this aspect augurs a time when you can take a risk or a gamble on pursuing new opportunities in your life. If you have been waiting for a great window of time to start something new, now is the time to act.

Full Moon in Capricorn

This week we have a Full Moon in earthy Capricorn, and we officially end eclipse season. Now, in astrology, the sign of Capricorn is not as glamorous as Leo or Sagittarius, nor is it as people-oriented as Libra or Aquarius.

Capricorn is an earth sign that is concerned with practical realities. So, during this Full Moon cycle, issues surrounding duties, obligations, and responsibilities will surface. The Capricorn Full Moon instructs us to look at how we utilize our practical resources (most importantly time and money) and look at whether our choices and decisions are adding to our lives or subtracting from it. Since Saturn rules Capricorn, you may need to look at your boundaries and limits and decide whether they are too rigid or too malleable. But mainly, this Full Moon cycle is about letting go of everything that is not adding to your successes in life.

Venus in Leo

Finally, on Saturday, Venus moves out of emotional Cancer and into fiery Leo.

One of my favorite moves is Grease with John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John, not because the movie was popular, but because the character of Sandy makes choices about love and pleasure.

In the movie, Sandy wants a serious relationship with Danny, the rebel hero of the film. Danny is part of the T-Birds, a group of oversexualized grease balls that shy away from commitment and responsibility and instead thrives on fun and sexual pleasures.

Sandy spends most of the movie trying to be acknowledged and respected by Danny but fails until she understands her desires, wants and needs, and can express her expectations. Once she discovers her value, she transforms into a siren with the powers to lure Danny and convince him (through song) to give her what she wants.

Sandy is a perfect image of Venus in Leo. While Venus is in Leo, we should focus on our wants and desires, our expectations of love relationships, and the value of being respected and acknowledged for who we are. After all, every queen (or king) deserves the best, and that includes you!

Saturn Square Uranus: Back in the Saddle Again!

This week we interrupt our regularly scheduled programming to bring you this special feature – Saturn square Uranus.

Each week, I ordinarily go through the astrology hotspots and then give the horoscope for each sign. However, this week there is not a lot going on except that the most potent aspect of 2021 occurs for the second time this year. So, I figured I would break down the aspect and how we can work with Saturn square Uranus personally.

But first, just a reminder, Mercury remains retrograde until June 22^nd. Continue to expect communication issues, problems with electronic devices, and plans to go awry. Also, avoid making any major decisions (if possible) until Mercury turns direct.
