Monday, August 9, 2021

The week begins with Venus opposing Neptune in Pisces. If you have too many expectations or your relationships are rooted in fantasy rather than reality, difficulties may surface. You may also feel let down, disappointed, or outright deceived by your partner(s). It would help if you stayed away from victim mindsets, because it may lead to emotional manipulation or controlling behavior. Boundaries may be necessary, but try not to put too many demands on your relationships, especially if you are frustrated. Instead, it’s best to acknowledge your feelings and wait until your emotions do not lead to acting hastily. If you are currently single, avoid starting a new relationship at the beginning of the week.

Although the Venus oppose Neptune aspect peaked yesterday, some residual gunk may linger on Tuesday. However, the clouds should part later in the day as Mercury opposes beneficial Jupiter before he leaves the sign of Leo.

Now since this aspect is an opposition, there are a few things to watch out for. First, your ideas may be short on details, so you need to try to pause before taking a risk. Second, try not to go ‘too’ overboard. A little restraint is necessary.

The good news is your temperament should be optimistic. It’s a great day for business transactions, negotiations, and planning. If your plans are well-thought-out, they should prove successful.

Wednesday is the busiest day of the week, with Mercury moving out of bombastic Leo and into orderly Virgo and Venus forming a harmonious trine to Pluto in Capricorn.

First up, Mercury is in dignity, being the Virgo’s ruler, so he can offer resources in the part of your chart where Virgo is located.

While Mercury is in Virgo, the devil is in the details, and you will want plenty of them. It’s an excellent time to focus on activities that need precision and focus. You can do this by organizing your space, making minor changes to your routine that make your life more efficient and manageable, and making strategic plans. Additionally, since Virgo is the sign associated with health and well-being, it’s a great time for lifestyle changes.

Later in the evening, Venus forms a harmonious trine to Pluto. In the forecast for Monday, I said to hold off on making emotional decisions if you experience disappointments in relationships. Well, Venus trine Pluto is an opportune time to do so. Venus trine Pluto is persuasive, so you can get your views heard, and there is an increased likelihood that you will get the results you want. However, regardless of the aspect, you will get better results with honey than vinegar. Try to reach an acceptable accord, if possible.

The Moon moves through fair and diplomatic Libra. This gives some added support to the Venus trine Pluto that occurred yesterday. It’s an auspicious day to reach an agreement or formalize decisions. In addition, the Moon forms a lovely trine to Saturn, so business activities and responsibilities should flow smoothly.

The Moon continues her trip through Libra most of the day, but she does tangle with Pluto during the morning hours. Intense emotions may try to steal your joy, especially if you are dealing with people on a power trip. Later in the day, the Moon will trine joyful Jupiter, and your evening hours should be more uplifting.

Saturday, August 14, 2021

The Moon spends her first full day in Scorpio and forms a tense square to Saturn during the morning hours. You may experience minor frustrations, but these should fade during the afternoon hours. Expect restless feelings during the evening hours as the Moon opposes Uranus.

Sunday, August 15, 2021

The Moon is still in Scorpio throughout the day on Sunday. La Luna forms a lovely trine to Neptune during the morning hours, so it’s an excellent day to escape the real world and enjoy some downtime. Perhaps a movie or good music would be a wonderful way to recharge your batteries and prepare to seize another day.

The astrology forecast for August 2, 2021 – August 8, 2021, features three planetary aspects (Sun oppose Saturn, Venus trine Uranus, and Sun square Uranus) and a New Moon in fiery Leo. So, it’s another challenging week (although better than the last few weeks), but manageable if you work with the energy.

Last month, Venus and Mars went through the wringer with Saturn and Uranus, and this month it’s Mercury and the Sun’s turn to bat. In August, the saving grace is Jupiter’s return to Aquarius provides a bit of protection that was not available in July.

Just a reminder, Saturn square Uranus is the major astrological aspect of 2021. So, this energy will continue to be triggered by planets making aspects to both juggernauts throughout the year. Saturn reflects the need for protective structures. Uranus signifies the need to shake up the system and usher in innovative ideas and visions that may be more helpful in everyday life. Since the two of them are currently square (obstacles), they tend to polarize one way or the other. We experience extremes, and you will notice that alive and well in our political climate in 2021. The key to working with this aspect is to give life to both sides of the polarity without tearing yourself in two. Finding ways to bring new elements into your life that are progressive and more sustainable overall, while feeling like you are not uprooting your life in an unmanageable way is the objective.

This week, the Sun retriggers Saturn square Uranus, so you may feel anxious and agitated with situations that are going on in your life. You may need to make changes in areas that have become too rigid, or you may need to build structures if things have gotten out of control. But, regardless of the side of the square you land on, finding balance will bring you the most meaning.

Jupiter plans to ‘run it on back’ as he retrogrades out of Pisces and reenters Aquarius, where he will remain until December 30.

Jupiter in Aquarius is good news for the fixed signs (Taurus, Leo, Scorpio, and Aquarius) currently being clobbered by Saturn square Uranus. Jupiter’s return to Aquarius will provide planets moving through the fixed signs some protection. However, the bad news is Jupiter in Aquarius is out of dignity, so the protection he offers is minimal, but still protection nonetheless.

The sign of Aquarius is about the collective group, human activity, society, and our individual communities. So, regardless of whether you like other people, you belong to something larger than yourself, and the sign of Aquarius governs that larger social body. Since Jupiter is about expansion and growth, it can be beneficial to grow your support system and connect to a vision larger than your own.

Jupiter is also about the big picture, and when he moves through Aquarius, it’s time to look at your big picture goals and act. While Jupiter is retrograde, you may even notice your big-picture priorities have changed, and now is the appropriate time to plant solid seeds for the future.

Mars changes signs today, but before he does, he forms an opposition to Jupiter. This aspect is lucky, because most activities you participate in will be successful. It’s an excellent time to take a risk and go for the gold. Since the Sun (Mars’ ruler) and Saturn (Jupiter’s ruler) are highly dignified, they can aid Mars and Jupiter. The only thing you need to be cautious of is acting at the expense of others, because the potential conflict of Mars oppose Jupiter is avoidable.

Later in the day, Mars moves out of Leo and into Virgo, where he will reside for the next six weeks. Mars in Virgo is more thoughtful than Mars in Leo and more ‘the strategist’ than the solar hero. Mars in Virgo is great for planning, strategizing, and initiating changes in your daily life. If you are a mutable sign (Gemini, Virgo, Sagittarius, and Pisces), you may experience mild opposition or obstacles in any actions you may take. The key for you will be persistence!

Try to avoid despair, because your problems may not be as bad as you think. Instead, try to find practical solutions that you can put in motion quickly and effectively.

It’s going to be a busy week, so let’s dive in…

Mercury

This week Mercury hogs the stage with aspects to all three outer planets – Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto. Mercury is currently moving through emotionally fluid Cancer, and feelings and emotional responses will be heightened. Sometimes, you may feel that you are sacrificing your own needs and pleasing others who may not appreciate your sacrifices. So, coming face to face with other people’s selfishness may be an issue. To combat these feelings, you may have to create boundaries to find a middle ground and avoid getting resentful. Make sure you honor yourself this week and practice self-care when needed.

Mercury sextile Uranus

Mercury’s first aspect this week occurs on Tuesday, and it’s an energetic sextile to Uranus in Taurus.

Mercury sextile Uranus kicks the mind into high gear. New thoughts, ideas, solutions to perplexing problems, and breakthroughs are all available with this aspect. Uranus is a forward-thinking planet that focuses on the big picture. Mercury sextile Uranus can help you plan and strategize all your possibilities, and ultimately put them in motion.

More practically, Mercury sextile Uranus means it is time to break from routines and do something new and exciting. You may want to plan a night out, socialize with friends and like-minded individuals, or take up a new hobby or interest. This aspect encourages you to get out of your usual patterns and leap into something new.

Mercury trine Neptune

Saturday is a break from reality day as Mercury trines Neptune. This is not a day to make significant decisions or focus on projects or tasks that require focus. Instead, spiritual concerns, meditation, music, and the arts are needed to feed your soul. You may need to plan nothing and spend the day relaxing and escaping the real world. One thing sure to happen is your intuition will be turned up to power ranger mode. Listen to your gut, but choose a more focused day before you commit to anything.

Mercury opposes Pluto

The last of the Mercury aspects occurs on Sunday, and it’s a doozy as Mercury opposes Pluto. I’m not going to sugarcoat it; this is a challenging aspect. Mercury oppose Pluto can be obsessive, compulsive, and even paranoid. Consequently, your interactions with others can become contentious, hostile, and argumentative. You may feel the need to prove something to others, which may provoke an equally forceful exchange. Also, you may need to practice the art of walking away if you fear you will cross the line – especially if you say or reveal something you will later regret.

On a more positive note, Mercury oppose Pluto gets you to think deep. You may discover something about yourself that you didn’t know, or get clarity on an issue troubling you. Self-insight is critical when working with this energy productively.

Venus in Virgo

The goddess of love doesn’t like Virgo much, and she is considered in her fall in the sign of the virgin. Hence, you can already see the problem, as romantic and erotic love are at odds with everything Virgo represents. So, as you can expect, Venus is at odds with herself and probably a little cranky while she moves through the sign.

Venus in Virgo tends to work best in the physical world and prefers to focus on schedules, activities, and rituals. However, you may also find a sudden interest in dieting, beautifying your space by pruning what is no longer of value and taking care of your health.

Upon entering Virgo, Venus applies to an opposition with Jupiter. Ordinarily, oppositions are challenging, but since Venus and Jupiter are both beneficial planets, the only thing you need to be concerned about is taking things to extremes and overspending. Otherwise, Venus opposes Jupiter is positive and enjoyable. So spend some time doing activities that you love.

Sun in Leo

This week, the Sun leaves the sign of Cancer and moves into Leo, the sign he rules. It’s a great time to focus on what brings you happiness and joy. While the Sun is in the sign of the roaring lion, you can expect a boost in self-confidence, and you will feel the need to express yourself, including your wants and needs. Since the Sun will be in a sign opposition to Saturn and a sign square to disruptive Uranus, you may feel pressured by outside influences. Stay true to yourself and your vision, and don’t capitulate because it’s convenient for others.

Full Moon in Aquarius

Finally, the last major event of the week is a full moon in mental Aquarius. Since this Full Moon conjoins Saturn, your duties and responsibilities may take center stage towards the end of the week. Since Aquarius is a fixed sign, this Full Moon cycle is about building solid foundations that are lasting and future-oriented. Mercury trine Jupiter

On Monday, Mercury in Cancer forms a lovely trine to Jupiter. On the practical level, Mercury trine Jupiter is excellent for signing contracts, communication, and the ability to expand our minds by learning new subjects and exploring new opportunities. It’s an easy-going aspect that is light and usually agreeable.

But perhaps the most useful application of Mercury trine Jupiter is its ability to envision and plan the future. While Mercury trine Jupiter is active, it’s a great time to create plans, develop strategies, and use the power of positive thinking to create a better tomorrow.

Venus conjunct Mars

Love is in the air this week as Venus and Mars conjoin in passionate Leo on Tuesday. Venus and Mars increase sexual attraction, improve your self-esteem, and give a massive boost of confidence. Additionally, Venus and Mars in Leo are known to set off romantic fireworks! Venus conjunct Mars is excellent for working on relationships issues, understanding your partner’s needs, and expressing yourself in positive and individual ways. And, since Venus conjunct Mars happens while Mercury trine Jupiter is active, you can expect positive conversations about the future. For some of you, it may even be a perfect week to plan a wedding.

Sun trine Neptune

Towards the middle of the week, the Sun forms a lovely trine to Neptune in Pisces. Now, it’s not an auspicious time to perform activities that require discipline and mental focus, but Sun trine Neptune is an excellent time for creative projects and spiritual work. In addition, you may find that you are more sensitive to the emotional needs of others and are more willing to help those in need. Also, if you want to escape the hustle and bustle of daily living, Thursday is the day to do it.

Sun opposes Pluto

Finally, after a week of relatively light energy, the ‘nasties’ will be out in full force this weekend, as the Sun in Cancer opposes Pluto in Capricorn. You may feel that people are trying to control you or limit your freedoms. Expect power plays, manipulative people to creep out of their layers, and potential conflicts with authority figures.
