The headliner this week is the solar eclipse in Taurus that occurs on Saturday afternoon. Solar eclipses are potent New Moons that can be troublesome. All you have to do is watch the headlines, and eclipse event after eclipse event will appear. Since the eclipse is in money-oriented Taurus, you can expect to see financial headlines, abrupt changes in the stock market, and recently held values of the collective begin to shift., especially since this eclipse is conjoined to disruptive Uranus. This is an excellent time to look at your fiscal picture and get real about your financial status. You may need to create a budget and trim the excess fat, but since the Moon is exalted in Taurus (and Venus, the ruler of Taurus, is also exalted in Pisces and conjoined beneficial Jupiter), and if you do the work, positive results will follow.

For all the magic users out there, I do not recommend aggressive magic. Instead, I recommend protection and cleansing based magical activities.

Although we have a potent solar eclipse in Taurus that occurs during the afternoon, we also have both benefics (Venus and Jupiter) conjoining in Pisces. Venus conjoin Jupiter is positive and is exceptionally good for relationships and financial matters. It’s an excellent day to spend with those you care about, and if you need to repair a relationship, it’s an auspicious day to do so. The only drawback to Venus-Jupiter is that it can sometimes get carried away and has little self-control. Check yourself regularly.

It’s going to be a cosmically busy this week, but all the action occurs at the beginning of the week and the end of the week. So, without further ado…

Cosmic Overview

This week is the beginning of Taurus season, so I figured I would give a little insight into a sign that is much more complex than money and finances.

There are many stories which you can associate with Taurus – King Midas, Ferdinand the Bull, and many fairytales, which all fit the bill. However, I feel that the myth of King Minos of Crete is perhaps one of the most important.

King Minos is the son of Zeus and Europa, who had to compete with his two siblings to ascend to the throne of one of the wealthiest islands of Greece. Minos claimed the throne by divine right, since his father, the king of the gods Zeus, pursued Europa and impregnated her in the form of a bull. Minos prayed to his uncle Poseidon to send a bull out of the sea to seal the deal, and agreed to sacrifice the bull in his honor. Poseidon granted Minos’ request and sent a beautiful bull, which Minos immediately desired. But, instead of sacrificing the bull in the god’s honor, he added the bull to his herd. He then deceptively sacrificed another bull to the god of the seas.

Poseidon was not amused and sent Aphrodite (the ruler of Taurus) to inflict Queen Pasiphae (Minos’s wife) with lust for the bull. Pasiphae instructs the craftsman Daedalus to create her a cow that she could climb into. Once completed, she entered the wooden cow, and then the bull entered her. Nine months later, she gave birth to a half man/half bull creature called the Minotaur.

Minos felt deep shame for his sins and had Daedalus (this guy suffers his own breakdown later because of his participation, which could symbolize our need to stick to our personal values rather than the values of others) create a structure known as the Labyrinth to house the Minotaur, and each month a virgin boy and girl were sent into the Labyrinth to feed the beast.

Now, of course, this is a rather twisted story, but there is a core to the story that gives us a glimpse into Taurus. Crete is an exceptionally wealthy country, and in its vast abundance and potent fertile lands lies a beast that threatens to devour the landscape unless it is ‘contained’. Perhaps, the Minotaur lives within each of us, and during Taurus season, we need to sort through what we possess and our motivations for obtaining it. Furthermore, we may need to look at our stewardship over our money and resources, and are we maintaining it and using it appropriately, or are we wasting it by feeding an inner Minotaur.

Cosmic Overview

This week the cosmic headliner is Jupiter conjoin Neptune in Pisces. On one level, Jupiter conjunct Neptune may potentially breathe a little compassion, understanding, and empathy into a world lacking in human decency. You may find that you are called upon to help those in need, or you may decide to do more spiritual based work. On the other hand, Jupiter can expand some dubious Neptunian characteristics, and we will see a deluge of misinformation, cult-like behaviors, and for a lack of a better phrase – ‘fake news’. The key to working through the trickier side of Jupiter-Neptune is to ensure your ideas are your own and that you are not following people blinding. Do your own research (FYI: 15 minutes on YouTube learning science from someone who failed 8^th grade biology is not research) and investigate anything before leaping headfirst into an idea or cause.

If you encounter Jupiter-Neptune gone amok, usually in the form of your crazy uncle or weird guy (or girl) in your social media feeds, try to remember that Neptune seeks redemption and to ease pain and suffering, and that many people are suffering for various reasons. Try to be as understanding as possible, even if you disagree with them. Use compassion before condemnation!

The astrology forecast for the week of April 4, 2022 through April 10, 2022 features four major aspects (Mars conjunct Saturn, Mercury sextile Saturn, Mercury sextile Mars, and Mercury square Pluto) and Venus and Mercury change signs.

So, the cosmos picks up speed this week. Let’s dive right in!

Cosmic Overview

The headliner this week is Venus moving out of Aquarius and into Pisces, the sign of her exaltation. This is good news, because Venus has been in Saturn ruled signs (Capricorn and Aquarius) since November 5, 2021, and she has been copresent with Mars and Saturn in Aquarius (part of the time besieged) since early March.

So, now Venus is free to do her thing, and since she is copresent with Jupiter (also in Pisces), we should begin to see a lightening of the energy and improvements in love and finances. Also, note the house where Pisces is located in your chart, and the two houses that Venus (Taurus and Libra) rules, because they will also see an upswing.

The positive way to work with Venus in Pisces (because there are dysfunctional applications like codependency and idealization) is to use this energy to improve relationships, and this may include some necessary self-sacrifice.

All relationships go through troubles, difficulties, and sometimes get off track. Now is an excellent time to do some inner work to see where your relationships problem areas are, and do what you can to improve them. Since Venus is in Pisces, the ability to empathize and be compassionate is amplified, which allows compromises to occur and healing to begin. Remember, Venus will also be in Pisces for your partner, so it’s easier to achieve reciprocity in relationships. If compromises cannot be achieved, the healing may begin when you accept the relationship is beyond repair, and that you need to begin loving yourself by making difficult decisions about your relationship’s future.

There is one warning: when working on relationship issues and compromising, do not lose sight of your boundaries.

The aspect of the week is Venus conjunct Saturn in Aquarius. So, the primary theme of the week will involve relationships (all of them).

Now, despite the magical belief about relationships – you know, when you meet ‘the one’ and everything in life becomes perfect – relationships are hard work. Sure, relationships can be exciting and fulfilling, but there are times when real world demands shatter our ideals of romantic bliss, and problems begin to occur. Venus in hard aspect to Saturn is when they are often triggered.

We all go through struggles, and those struggles usually occur outside of relationships. They may be career-related, financial, medical, or familial, but we all have things we are dealing with regularly. Venus conjunct Saturn indicates a cycle when those worldly issues (Saturn) can affect our relationships, and even how we relate to our partners individually. Furthermore, when Venus conjoins Saturn, you may feel isolated and alone, which can complicate matters more.

Working with Venus/Saturn requires honesty and realism. You may need to look at your life and what your relationships currently mean to you. Often, insight into ways to get your needs met while handling life’s circumstances is a productive way to get what you require from your partners, and that gut-level open communication can relieve some of the struggle. However, you need to also be cognizant of whether your reactions to the real world may alienate your partner because you are so focused on your own issues, and you are not receptive to them or their needs.

The good news is that if you put in the work, your relationships will become more stable and fulfilling. You can create a stronger support system to deal with your struggles. All that is required is working with your relationships, not against them.

Although Mercury is a big player, the most potent aspect of the week is Mars in Aquarius square Uranus in Taurus. Mars square Uranus is an extremely volatile aspect, and it’s hard (even in the most conscious of people) to contain. You may feel a need to break free from situations in your life where you feel controlled and restrained. Acting impulsively and reacting to external circumstances may need to be tempered so that you do not do any lasting damage to your life. It’s necessary to be as proactive as possible, and try to manage your emotions the best you can.

If you can control your impulses, Mars square Uranus can be useful. This aspect often reveals the areas of life where you feel discouraged and dissatisfied. Understanding the root of your restlessness can help you make positive and meaningful changes in your life. The key is working with this energy productively, and not letting it work you.

Finally, Mars square Uranus is accident prone. Try to be aware of what you are doing, especially when you are driving and handling equipment. A hard hat may be necessary!
