Let’s Ask the Tarot – Akashic Records
I am excited when new books come out – especially if those books come from people that I know and respect. On October 1, 2013, Jacki Smith and Patty Shaw released their book, “DIY: Akashic Wisdom”. In one day it reached #1 on Amazon. Since I have become addicted to ‘wisdom readings’ lately, I have decided to turn the mighty tarot on the akashic records.
I will be using the Pam A. deck to perform these readings. Pam A. is an earlier version of the current Rider Waite Smith deck that is very familiar to most students of the tarot. I will include clickable images to the cards from the deck.
Question 1: What are the akashic records?
Card – 8 of Cups
There are two cup cards that really reflect the downward side of human emotions. The first of which is the 5 of cups. Normally, this card is associated with emotional depression, disappointment, emotional loss, and at times betrayal. The other card is the 8 of cups. Unlike the 5 of cups though, there is no emotional turbulence that is involved with this card. Instead, the card reflects a sense of knowing or a sense of accepting circumstances as they are, or a sense of higher understanding that comes after one has been through an emotional circumstances. In many ways, this is a card of letting go – which ironically is what our last Keep It Magic show was about, but it also includes some deeper understanding of what has occurred and the higher meaning of the lessons learned. So, to answer the question, “What are the akashic records,” we can understand them as an area of higher learning in order to let go of grief, pain, distress, or any other malady that ails us. If you have problems in your life, the akashic records are the place to get that vital information.
Question 2: How can the akashic records assist me?
Card – 6 of Wands
In the tarot, the 6 of Wands is considered the card of victory. It also implies confidence, success, and optimism. It’s a very favorable card to draw when you are giving or getting a reading. When applied to the question, the akashic records can assist us by giving us confidence in our personal being, success in our endeavors that lead us down the right path, and an optimistic future free from the bondage of the past. During my own Akashic records reading (that had with Patty Shaw) much information was revealed to me that assisted me in my own process by allowing me to understand and free myself from emotional burdens. Through the reading, I was able to gain a sense of confidence and direction.
